Covid-19 | What to expect at your salon visit

What a crazy time it has been and, needless to add, we are delighted to be able to welcome you back to the salon now that lockdown is beginning to ease.

We are just as passionate about your safety and well-being as we are about your hair, so wanted to give you a quick update on the safety measures we have put in place and what to expect on your next visit.

Don’t worry – these additional measures will not be impacting our fab service and your visit will be just as relaxing and enjoyable as always!

Booking your visit

To help with social distancing in the salon, we are reducing the scheduling of appointments that occur at similar times. However, we have extended our opening hours to try and accommodate as many clients as we can.

We are also temporarily opening on both Sundays and Mondays – that’s a 7 day week of hairapy up for grabs!

It’s busy – with the influx of appointment requests, the diary fills up very quickly and we may not always have your preferred time/date available. Thank you in advance for your understanding and for bearing with us.

Apologies, as we can no longer accept walk-in clients – appointments only at this time.

Before your arrival

Feeling unwell?

If you, anyone in your household, or anyone you have been in recent contact with has displayed Coronavirus symptoms, we kindly ask you to follow government guidance to stay home. Please contact us with as much notice as you can and we will happily rearrange your appointment for another time.

Don’t be early, don’t be late

We’re working hard with appointment scheduling to ensure there is no unsafe congestion in the salon. Punctuality is key to keep the smooth and safe running of your appointment.

Come alone

Where possible, we kindly ask that you attend your appointment alone. This is to ensure we are able to maintain safe levels of distancing within the salon at all times.

Belongings

In the interest of keeping utmost sanitation throughout the salon, it is advisable just to bring your payment method along with you and leave excess belongings at home or in your car, such as shopping bags, coats, handbags etc.

Face coverings

You are not required to wear a face mask during your visit, but you can do so if you so wish.

Arrival & appointment

Have you provided all your contact info?

As part of the track and trace initiative by the government, we are requested to gather the following contact information for every client: name, contact number, email address. If you haven’t provided all of this information prior to your visit, we may ask you for it when you arrive. Your information will only be held for 21 days from the appointment date and will not be used for any other purposes.

Sanitizing station

You will notice a sanitizing station as soon as you enter the salon. We ask all clients to sanitize their hands upon entry and await a team member to welcome you straight to the section of the salon for your appointment.

Social distancing

We have clearly marked areas throughout the salon to help maintain 1m+ distancing throughout the salon. Please be aware of these areas and uphold keeping a safe distance in the duration of your visit.

Refreshments

We are unable to provide any teas or coffees during these times, with the exception of water. However, please feel free to bring one along with you – we highly recommend Espresso Kitchen, or Vitalife Skinny, nearby.

Similarly, we are also no longer able to provide communal magazines.

Safety measures

The team

Our team will now be wearing face shields, gloves and disposable plastic aprons, all for your safety and theirs. Although they may appear dressed for surgery, please don’t be alarmed – the only life-changing surgery they’ll be performing is on unruly, post-quarantine hair!

Ventilation

As part of government guidelines, we are required to keep good ventilation throughout the salon. As such, you will notice doors held open – please refrain from touching any doors at this time. A member of the team would be more than happy to adjust the climate control if you are feeling uncomfortable.

Sterilisation

All stations, chairs, door handles, surfaces and equipment will be sterilised between each appointment and at regular intervals throughout the day.

Enhanced cleaning

All gowns and towels will be washed after each use with cutting collars disposed of after use.

Regular cleaning schedules throughout the salon, including the toilets and waiting area.

Screens

The addition of protective screens both between hairdressing stations as well as the reception desk are there for added safety and will also be cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Relax & enjoy

In these tough times, we want nothing more than to help take your mind off things and take this time to relax and enjoy some well deserved pampering.

While your salon visit will seem a little different from what you’re used to, please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to ensure it continues to be the enjoyable experience you deserve.

If you have any queries about your appointment or wish to discuss anything in further detail, the team are here to help and will be more than happy to hear from you.
